J. Elmer Turner (1872-1948) - Kentucky Bourbon Pioneer
Quietly crafted for over a century. Inspired by a man who never rushed what mattered.
Born in Berry’s Lick, Kentucky, J. Elmer Turner learned early that patience, discipline, and steady hands shaped everything worth keeping. In the evenings, he tended a small copper still – a quiet craft that became his refuge and his signature. His bourbon earned a local legend: “Turner makes the good stuff.”
Prohibition pushed his work into the shadows, and his final barrels were shared by family. But his journals endured.
Today, JET Bourbon is made in Danville – honoring his initials, his integrity, and his belief:
Some legacies aren’t rushed. They’re earned.
